Live YouTube and Google+ Hangout On Air broadcasts from LaBelle, Florida.
This was a test Hangout On Air broadcast with some of my Google+ friends from around the world (Texas, London, Macedonia, Eastern Europe, Hawaii, and San Diego, California) to test YouTube's "closed" caption feature. Although only a maximum of 10 people participate in the live discussion, over 500 people have watched the Hangout on the YouTube channel where comments can be made as well.
What's Closed Captioning?
YouTube compiles an automatic text script from everyone speaking on the video, which can later be manually edited for corrections. I edited a few minutes of the video captions, so you can compare to the automatic script by YouTube which isn't yet able to determine many words. (Click on 'CC' to turn on the closed captions. You can drag the captions to any place on the video as well as change the caption color)
Time Code Tip: When watching on the YouTube channel (Click on the YouTube logo to go there) you can click on the time code in the comments to jump to that section:
01:00 Funny stories about Florida food, bees and insects, squirrels, pet cats, birds and more
23:00 Piezo microphone pickups
28:00 QSL Cards from international shortwave radio stations and radio listening
35:00 video processing from Flip Video camera and how YouTube processes video
42:30 Google maps, Blogger, and Google sites
1:00:00 Home remodeling
